Dr. Kurre Luber is an honors graduate of the University of Mississippi. Prior to his professional return to Oxford, Dr. Luber obtained his medical degree from the University of Missouri Medical School, completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and was selected for an AO International Orthopaedic Surgery fellowship in York, England, where he gained extensive experience in trauma surgery. Rounding out his hands-on training, Dr. Luber completed accredited fellowships in advanced sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at the Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center as well as at the Tulane Institute for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Luber has published numerous articles and chapters in the field of orthopaedics and has lectured at national and international meetings. He remains actively involved in the educational side of sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery and currently serves as an Associate Master Instructor to other orthopaedic surgeons at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago.
Dr. Luber’s sports and arthroscopic specialty encompasses outpatient, minimally invasive surgery. He performs arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle joints. In addition to his specialty, Dr. Luber trained in all major aspects of orthopaedic surgery. His experience includes advanced sports medicine and arthroscopic reconstruction, joint replacement, foot and ankle surgery, hand surgery, pediatric orthopaedics, and trauma. He also has a special interest in sports injuries and arthroscopic reconstruction. Utilizing his arthroscopic skills, he routinely treats active people of all ages including high school, collegiate, and professional athletes such as members of the New Orleans Saints and athletes from Ole Miss, Tulane, Jackson State, Alcorn State, Mississippi Valley State, Millsaps, and Belhaven Universities.
Dr. Luber’s accomplishments and drive have not gone unnoticed by fellow medical professionals as he was selected by his colleagues as a member of the American Orthopaedic Association Emerging Leaders Program. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the Mississippi Orthopaedic Society.
He serves on the medical staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi where he is an active board member and officer of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, the Medical Executive Committee, the Trauma Committee and the North Mississippi Physicians Association.
Dr. Luber and his wife live in Oxford with their three children.
