Dr. Terry was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1963. He attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1985. He then attended the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine for four years where he graduated in 1989. Dr. Terry then completed six years of residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, finishing in 1995. He then completed a one year fellowship in shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand surgery at the Harvard Affiliated Hospitals in Boston, Massachusetts finishing in 1996.

During his six years at Duke, Dr. Terry trained in all major aspects of orthopaedic surgery. His experience included joint replacement, trauma, arthroscopy/sports medicine, hand surgery, foot and ankle surgery, pediatric orthopaedics, and musculoskeletal tumors.

Dr. Terry has performed significant research in the field of orthopaedic surgery. He has authored original research and presented work at both national and international conferences.

Dr. Terry is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the American Medical Association. He serves on the medical staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. In addition, he served as the President of the North Mississippi Medical Society for two years, and is presently the Medical Director of the Oxford Outpatient Surgery Center.

Dr. Terry is married and lives in Oxford. His wife is a native Mississippian. They have three children.
