Dr. Daniel Boyd
Dr. Daniel Boyd is a Board Certified Orthopaedic surgeon. He graduated from Mississippi State University where he was a two time All Southeastern Conference football player and an Academic All
American. He then earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical School and later completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Texas. After residency, Dr.
Boyd was selected for a fellowship in sports medicine and joint replacement surgery at the San Antonio Orthopaedic Institute where he gained extensive experience in advanced shoulder, hip and
knee surgery. After training, Dr. Boyd returned to Mississippi in 2006 and joined Oxford Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Boyd is an experienced resource for the little league player, weekend warrior, and the elite athlete. Dr. Boyd serves as a consultant to college athletic programs and has given many
lectures on athletic injuries and their treatments. Dr. Boyd has cared for patients associated with the World Champion San Antonio Spurs, New Orleans Saints, The University of Texas, The
University of Mississippi, World Cup Soccer, and numerous high school athletic teams. Dr. Boyd completed a certified sports medicine fellowship under Dr. Jesse DeLee, author of one the most
widely referenced Sports Medicine textbook.
Dr. Boyd specializes in shoulder, hip, and knee surgery, advanced arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip and knee, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, arthroscopic shoulder stabilization,
anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, multiligament knee reconstruction, total shoulder replacement, hip replacement, and total and partial knee replacement. He sees patients in both
Oxford and Grenada.
Dr. Boyd is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society of Sports Medicine, North
American Arthroscopy Association, and the Mississippi Medical Association. Also he serves on the medical staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi and has presided as President
of the North Ms Medical Association.
Dr. Boyd and his wife Nicole are the parents of two children. Dr. Boyd and his wife are volunteers for a number of community programs and are involved in advocacy for special needs children.
